Outdoor Education Programs

LLDC programs are offered in the fall, winter, and spring and range from 1-3 days.  In-school and overnight programs are available.  Our programs are ideal for:

  • Grades K-12
  • Sports teams
  • Student council
  • Alternative school groups
  • Adult groups

All LLDC programs are centered on caring for self, others, and our environment.

Day Programs

Day programs incorporate games, initiative, trust building activities, survival skills, and a low-ropes course.  Popular challenges like the Balance, Spider’s Web, and the Wall will allow groups to improve communication, build trust, and develop leadership.

Multi-Day Programs

Multi-day programs build upon the day program.  Once familiar with the format of our program, groups can delve deep and overcome obstacles in the group dynamic or simply become more cohesive.

Popular options include coming multiple times in a season; coming fall, winter, and spring in one year; or coming over multiple years.  For example, a cohort of students could come in the spring of 6th grade for team building, environmental education, and swimming, in the winter of 7th grade for ice fishing and winter survival skills, and in the fall of 8th grade for team building and leadership development.

Overnight Programs

Overnight programs are a chance for teachers and students to really get to know one another.  Programs can be 2 days/1 night or 3 days/2 nights.  Overnight programs are filled with team building challenges during the day and cooking, games, and a night hike in the evenings.  Students build fires to cook over, and prepare and cook the meals themselves.  They have a chance to play freely and as a group, enhance their senses to the nighttime through games and the night hike, and spend the entire day outdoors.
